Are linked pod network technologies updated?

I'm reading lesson 03 and when starts presenting pod network projects, some seems old like romana. It's last commit is from 2018. Is it an option currently in use for production environments or is deprecated?

Hello,

The space is in constant motion. One should always expect projects to come and go. But in production it's not as common to stop using a technology to embrace something new. As a result it is still is use plenty of places, but wouldn't be as likely for those building new clusters.
