scp help

I'm not new to linux but am new to the CL, I'm learning to scp files and folders I have 2 pc running on the same router Pc A has all my files snd that the Pc i'm using to send the files, SSH is install on both PC's and it work fine ok I seem to be doing something wrong I want to send my Music folder from pc1 to pc2 when i try it it send what look like a ton mata data , here the command I run scp -r -C /home/ Music pc2@192.168.0.xxx:/home/pc2/Music

  • I agree with the darkwizard that you should look up how to use the rsync command. For scp when you're having issues you can get more information by adding a -v argument. If your issue is still not addressed you can increase the verbosity level by adding a second v character or a -vv which will give more information fed to the terminal screen. And finally, there's -vvv for the full debugging verbosity.

    You will need to be able to scroll back through the output or add a |less if the scroll back isn't possible.
