If running your nodes using GCE, ensure your instances are using VPC setup and all ports are allowed

In lab 3.1 : If running your nodes using GCE, ensure your
instances are using VPC setup and all ports are allowed. I need help on how to use VPN and ports on GCP. It is frustrating many steps are not clear, documentation is very poor.

  • Hi,
GCP documentation guides you step by step how to create a VPC. I believe the IP ranges from the online guide are sufficient for the purpose of these labs.

Also, the documentation for firewall rules guides you how to create a firewall rule. Your rule should allow all protocols, all ports, all source/destinations (0.0.0.0/0). It is not a best practice/production setup, but it is necessary in order to get these labs working.

I did not have to setup a VPN, so I am not sure what is needed there.

    Good luck!

Were you able to follow google's documentation or do you require further assistance?
