Welcome to the Linux Foundation Forum!

Just started Fedora 13, and no GUI.

Booted it up, i'm under the root account, and nothing i type in is bringing up the GUI. I've tried startx and xinit, and i have no idea what else to type in to boot it up.

Can you please tell us if you received any error messages and what the messages stated?
  • I think,it's already booted up & facing with Xserver error. right? If yes,it's not depend on type someting or not. But,it's under root, wht in it?in CLI or in GUI? initial command installation? or GUI installation?Make sure in step by step start up.That's I think,am I right @mfillpot?

Based off of the initial request it sounds like the X server is crashing. Most likely it is a driver or X11 configuration issue. We will need to see what x11 reports on failure to determine how to resolve the issue.

I believe fedora defaults to not allowing "X" to boot up as root. I've never had the need to start "X" as root, so I can't tell you from experience. Does it boot up in "X" as user?
