It could be that you have not yet installed the necessary driver for the broadcom wifi card to work, please read the posts at http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=239922 which will tell you how to install the drivers.0
-
As root,
yum install akmod-wl
Make sure you have the correct kernel-devel file installed first.
yum install kernel-PAE-devel if your using a PAE kernel.
Reboot.0 -
On current systems, you may need either a driver, the firmware for the wireless chip set, or both. I had a similar problem with my Dell laptop. The wireless worked with Jaunty (9.04) out-of-the-box, but with Meerkat (10.10) I had to install the driver and firmware. Go figure! Possibly the issue was that the firmware is proprietary in many cases (Broadcom chip sets, for instance) and are not open sourced.0

Have you tried a different network manager? I reccomend WiCD over gnome network manager. It has better options and its lighter. I love how it saves Wireless passwords and wireless settings, less hassel. google it!0

Hi ,
I followed the below steps mentioned at the URL : http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#Fedora
1 su -
2 yum install b43-fwcutter wget
Next, download the Windows driver:
3. wget http://downloads.openwrt.org/sources/broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5.tar.bz2
Next decompress, extract and copy firmware to /lib/firmware directory.
4. tar xjf broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5.tar.bz2
5. cd broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5/driver
6. b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware/ wl_apsta_mimo.o
Please find the detailed output below.
[chakram@localhost ~]$ su

Now it is working fine. Thank you all.0 -
I'm wondering why you didn't just install broadcom-wl directly from the Fedora repositories?
yum install broadcom-wl
yum install kmod-wl or
yum install akmod-wl0 -
I tried for direct installation as mentioned above and it is also working fine.
Thank you.0 -

Can you please share the results from your system when you run the command " lspci | grep -i net"?
This will help us to understand which chipset is being used on your system which will lead to knowing what drivers you need.0 -

Have you followed the steps that GoingEAsy9 posted above?
yum install broadcom-wl
yum install kmod-wl or
yum install akmod-wl
And have you attempted to review your log files to search for an error message?0 -
Have you turned on the wireless in your laptop ? check that. I made this mistake and struggled for some 2 hrs.
Ensure the Wirless On button position, then follow mathew's tips, it should work. Its working for me0
