Elsewhere of the log, saidme:

http://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/191889

I have been reading in this ofrum and others, and i dont get solve this problem.

I update my system and then began the problems. Currently i have wpasupplicant 0.6.10-2, and network-manager/lucid uptodate 0.8-0ubuntu3.

This output: "wpa_supplicant[1171]: Association request to the driver failed" made me think the problem was the driver. But the output of lsmod is:

have you tried using wicd instead of network-manager to see if network-manager or one of its dependencies is the cause of the problem?

  • there isnt this output: "wpa_supplicant[1171]: Association request to the driver failed" but i can not connect.
    Why?
Before it updating network-manager running ok?
    :(

Since you are getting related issues with both network-manager and wicd then we can be assured that the problem is not network manager, but an update to a dependent library or application. Have you attempted to re-compile wpa-supplicant or file an bug report on ubuntu?
  • Following your advice... i found it.

    aptitude show wpasupplicant

Descripción: client support for WPA and WPA2 (IEEE 802.11i)
WPA and WPA2 are methods for securing wireless networks, the former using IEEE 802.1X, and the latter using IEEE 802.11i. This software provides key negotiation with
the WPA Authenticator, and controls association with IEEE 802.11i networks.

when i read this output, i found that i dont have installed "libdbus-1-3". when i search in ubuntu i didnt found. i download by web debian and install without a problem, now i will reboot and then post my result
  • I read the README, and i undertant that i have to make a .config archive with my options. Includes all features and driver interfaces that are
    included in the wpa_supplicant package.

It looks like the build process is having problems with the madwifi source, I do not thin that you need to compile it with support for madwifi since it is a legacy driver for atheros chipsets, atheros chipsets are now supported in the main kernel with the ath modules.

Try to compile it without madwifi support.
  • thank you. You have my vote.

i would like to be friends. :cheer:
  • my problem was solve, i only install wifi-radar.

    i dont understant.
    :)
  • hola, ruben!

it is good to hear that your issue has been resolved.

On a personal note, I, too, have experiences when an issue was resolved but I do not understand how.

What is important is it was resolved.

In the future, I guess, you can check the site of Ubuntu (or any distro you are using) to verify which package are compatible to the hardware you are using. :)
