Imac G5

Relative newbie. I received a free Imac G5, which lacked a hard drive or RAM, so no OS. I put the RAM and a hard drive in it and am attempting to install Linux. Anybody have any tips on how to do this, which version works best etc. I tried the Fedora disk but am not having much luck.

Thanks in advance.

I think you going to have to explain what "Not having much luck" means. Take us step by step what you've done, tell us what you see on the screen, what happens when the boot stops. Do you see the splash screen for the computer, that is, the ad screen that tells you to press F10 or F12 to get to the Bios or setup?
    We need input ....

    Thanks arochester,
The reason the OP is having no luck with fedora is due to fedora not having a PPC release since F12. Debian based distros are a good choice.
