LFD259 Use with WSL
The lab info for the LFD259 course mentions use of a Linux server or desktop/laptop. I assume this is to setup and manage the Kubernetes cluster.
Could Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) also be used instead?

Hi @ronaldp,
The course lab exercises were built and tested on a two-node Kubernetes cluster.
WSL on its own can support one single Kubernetes node, where your entire WSL instance becomes the node - an installation I do not recommend because the installation will alter many of the networking settings of your WSL instance. If your host machine supports nested virtualization (enabled from BIOS), then you may be able to install in WSL a hypervisor, such as KVM, and provision the two Linux VMs required for the lab environment.
Another option is to simply use Hyper-V (with hardware virtualization enabled in BIOS - not available on Windows Home) to provision the two VMs.

Thanks for your reply, but I'm afraid my question was not completely clear. The Lab Info for this course says "To successfully complete the lab exercises in this course, access to a Linux server or Linux desktop/laptop is required. Access to a public cloud provider, or VirtualBox on your machine is also needed."
I assume the public cloud provider/Virtualbox is to host the Kubernetes nodes.
What I was wondering about, is what the seperate Linux server or desktop/laptop is used for, and if WSL could be used instead.Regards, Ronald
