How do you copy between Terminals in the lab?

I can not copy between terminals in the lab environment. I've tried every operating system/browser combination available to me and it just doesn't work. Does this work for anybody?

Have you tried using the instructions provided on the "Important Details Regarding the Lab Environment" page in the Lab Exercises section of Chapter 3?

I finally got this to work on a windows box. Has anybody gotten it to work on a Mac? The video instruction in the course says if you hit control and then select the text it will auto copy, but when I try to do that, a menu pops up so I can't see what I am trying to select.

Have you tried holding down the SHIFT key while selecting the desired text in the terminal?

That works on a windows box and a linux box, but on my mac another menu comes up and gets in the way. I guess I'm going to stick with doing the labs on my linux box.

@fcioanca and @chrispokorni I can confirm that the instructions to use shift, ctrl, or any combination of ctrl, option, and shift do not work to copy text out of the console on OSX using safari.

ctrl will allow you to highlight one space-separated word or string, after which you need to remove the menu that pops up and hit command-c

combining shift with ctrl does not do anything different.

Hi @kkatzke and @kbsquared

On MacOS, press the OPTION key while selecting the desired IP address, port number, token, or other text in the terminal; this action automatically copies the selected text.
