I think the problem is device driver .
I think the linux kernel can support Rtl 8101 lan card.
And maybe,you should recompile the linux kernel.0 -
first run "ifconfig -a" and post your results
Try this:
check to see if you have a configuration file for your interface (with the assumption that eth0 is your interface):
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
create a backup copy of the file to your home folder
edit the original file to look like this:
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
ONBOOT=yes
after you save the changes run:
"ifup eth0"
I hope this helps.0 -
A common problem is the contents of your /etc/resolv.conf file. This contains the addresses of the DNS servers your computer uses to lookup internet addresses. IE, how to turn www.google.com into xxx.yyy.zzz.nnn (64.233.169.104 for one of several). Normally, you can set one of the addresses to your router gateway address. Also, your ISP will provide you with at least one or two that they provide for you. Finally, there are a number of top-level DNS servers that you can use if all else fails. In any case, post the contents of your /etc/resolv.conf file here and we can help you modify it to work, if that is indeed the problem.0

Hi,
The kernel is telling you that it doesn't recognize the card.
It will not load a module and therefore you've got no device.
And that's what the network restart command is reporting.
Google says that the realtek card has its own source package
that needs to be compiled manually. It will provide the r8169
kernel module, which should be able to load fine in a general
purpose kernel.
Depending on the distro you're using somebody might have done
the compile for you and you can download it as a package!
Otherwise download the source code, untar, run make in the
created directory and modprobe -r the created module (if no
errors...)
Good luck!0
