Lab 3.2 LXC Container without Network

Is this expected that the network is not configured automatically? In the lab notes, the container already has a valid network after creation.

  • Hi @kaisong,

What is the version of the guest Ubuntu OS?

    Regards,
    -Chris

  • Hi Chris, I used the RockyLinux 9 amd64 for the guest OS.

  • Hi @kaisong,

The labs exercises have been tested on the OS recommended in the first lab exercise of the lab guide. Exercises may produce different outcomes on other OS distributions where installation and configuration steps are altered for the target guest OS.

  • Thanks, @chrispokorni . To help me learn LXC internals, can you go a bit more in depth on what causes the different outcomes when using a different guest OS? It makes sense, but deviating from the lab slightly and fully understanding why is the best way to learn via the hands on lab.

Is the missing network configuration a LXC limitation if guest OS is different from the host OS? if so, are there other system configurations the guest OS needs to configured manually afterwards?
