Knowledge check question 3.2 asks:

"The usage of containers and virtual machines are mutually exclusive. True or False?"

The correct answer should be True, because while it is not entirely common to encounter environments that utilize containers without VMs, it is extraordinarily common to encounter environments that utilize just plain VMs with no containers. Either way, it is entirely possible to have an environment set up with either configuration - which would mean that they are indeed mutually exclusive. That being said, the knowledge check marks this answer incorrect.

Is this just a bug/typo that has gone unchecked? Or am I missing something?

    Hi obliviobvious,

    "mutually exclusive" in a sense that you NEVER can have both. Of course you can have environments with just VMs or bare metal setups that just use containers. But you ALWAYS CAN have both. So they are never mutually exclusive and thus "false" is the correct answer.

    Mutually exclusive I think means that they cannot function without each other.
