For application selection, is doing the required task mentioned as prerequisite is enough for selection process or do i need to have done any previous open source contribution

Coding challenge is mandatory, rest of the contributions are encouraged. Please take
the list. Each of these help you practice the skills learned in the A Beginner’s Guide to Linux Kernel Development. Helps you practice interacting and working with the community Linux Kernel Mentorship Program Required ContributionsParticipate in Stable release process, Debugging, and Staging tree coding style cleanups are the two I would highly recommend putting some effort into.
