In this lab it says this:

But in the video the command was "sudo du -shxc --exclude=proc *"

If -x excludes proc why the explicit command of --exclude=proc?

    Repetition is good for the soul.

    Yes it is not necessary but it shows the use of --exclude= . It is harmless and updating the videos is no small amount of work.
