    Hi @bryonbaker

The webpage might have been down for a bit, but it is working with no issues - I just accessed the resources. In the past, there may have been short instances when in was down, but things like this happen from time to time, and the service is usually back up almost immediately. Please try again, as you should be able to access the course resources.

    Thank you,
    Flavia

  • Hi - when I try this command wget https://training.linuxfoundation.org/cm/LFS258/LFS258_V2019-08-12_SOLUTIONS.tar.bz2 -user=xxxx... etc it says it can't resolve certificate. Thanks!

  • Hi @AnissaWilliams ,
Unless there is a restriction on your machine or your network, such as a DNS configuration or firewalls, the command should work without any issues.

    -Chris

  • Same problem trying to download for exercise 2.5. From command line:
    user@host:/tmp$ wget https://training.linuxfoundation.org/cm/LFS260/LFS260V2022-03-25SOLUTIONS.tar.xz--user=LFtraining --password=XXXXX
    --2022-12-16 15:55:23-- https://training.linuxfoundation.org/cm/LFS260/LFS260V2022-03-25SOLUTIONS.tar.xz--user=LFtraining
    Resolving training.linuxfoundation.org (training.linuxfoundation.org)... 146.75.122.132
    Connecting to training.linuxfoundation.org (training.linuxfoundation.org)|146.75.122.132|:443... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 401 Restricted

    And from browser:

    I'm using the bird/year password

    Hi @holmesb

Please pay attention to the note underneath the command. Your underscores have disappeared when you copy/pasted the command, so you must manually edit the command to ensure it matches the one in the course. Otherwise, you can check out the Course resources page in the first chapter.

    Regards,
    Flavia

  • Hi @holmesb,

In case it was missed, there is the following note with a workaround:

Note: depending on your software, if you are cutting and pasting the above instructions, the underscores may disappear and be replaced by spaces, so you may have to edit the command line by hand!

    Regards,
    -Chris

Underscores weren't replaced with spaces, they were removed. But correct URL for anyone else struggling with this is: wget https://training.linuxfoundation.org/cm/LFS260/LFS260_V2022-03-25_SOLUTIONS.tar.xz --user=LFtraining --password=XXX

If formatting inside the "Download shell scripts and YAML files" box in this lab exercise breaks copy-paste, then may I suggest moving it outside of this box. Currently this will trip too many people up.

    Many thanks
