Linux Distro choice for Virtual Machines

I have completed LFS101x. And, in that course I used Centos 6.5, Ubuntu Desktop 14.04 and OpenSUSE 12.3 GNOME for my virtual machines.
I am just beginning this course and would like to know which distribution versions I should use for my virtual machines to get the most out of this course. I was planning on using Centos 7, Ubuntu Desktop 16.04 and OpenSUSE Leap 42.1.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

Hi,
There is a section in the course entitled '1.8. Target Linux Distributions', so you can read in there what enterprise distributions the course is concentrating on.
