Trying to instal Wine

Options

Hello Everyone!

I am a newbie and need your help. I was trying to instal Wine on my computer by downloading the rpm from winehq.org.

I started by clicking on the Wine rpm, which starts off Yast. Well, Yast asks for repodata and says that the file is not there on http:\\download.opensuse.org. I somehow got around that problem by mentioning a sub-directory which had the file.

Well, after downloading the required repositories, Yast proceeded with the installation, but finally came up with an error message regarding some broken pipe error!

I don't know what to do! :S

Regards.

What is your Distro (b/c of Yast, I assume some SUSE flavor) and Release Version?

I think SUSE supports yum. Do you have yum installed/configured? If so, it could be as simple as doing this in a terminal (as root):
    yum install wine

See here for more on SUSE, yum, and Wine.

Could you provide us with this exact error message?
