I haven't experimented with Linux tablets yet, but most of the main distros contain drivers for hardware such as the Wacom tablet, that is used by artists. Your success running full touchscreen will depend on what hardware your tablet pc contains.
If you give us more info, we might be able to be more specific helping you.0 -
Current versions of Linux support a number of touchscreens out-of-the-box. You may need to configure your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file manually to support it. Here is a link to an IBM article on getting a touchscreen to work with Linux: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-playscreen/0

You should check out E17 http://enlightenment.org/ and build that on any linux distro that would fit your tables... Its very touch-friendly, and also you can check out that old ubuntu project: netbook-launcher-efl... that they've used when there was a netbook release.0

You can also look into ubuntu which is known to work with most touchscreen devices. Actually any linux OS can be tweaked to work with touchscreen so long it supports the hardware and has the drivers for "event" input. IMHO, stick with any ubuntu/debian based linux distro and you should have little difficulty running linux on you tablet.

Thank you for this great advice. You just opened a whole new Linux IDE for me.Juanchi Barrientos wrote:You should check out E17 http://enlightenment.org/ and build that on any linux distro that would fit your tables... And yes, Enlightenment IS a great IDE for touch devices.0
