Welcome to the Linux Foundation Forum!

So I can't get my thumb drive to make a new partitions.

I'm running Ubuntu Mate right now, and I tried to make a new partition on a thumb drive I had, as it became recently corrupted. However, when I try to recover it, I just get this error

Error wiping newly created partition /dev/sdc1: Command-line `wipefs -a "/dev/sdc1"' exited with non-zero exit status 1: wipefs: error: /dev/sdc1: probing initialization failed: No such file or directory

, if anybody has an answer, that would be great.
