How can I use Linux to make me stand out at work

So I work for a UK based IT support company, dealing with manufacturing equipment, so CMM stuff etc.

Most of our hardware is Windows based but there are some devices which run Linux, some machine controllers, some servers etc.

But at heart I much prefer to use Linux over Windows.

What could I do to show my employers that I am good with Linux and maybe get on some projects or problems that use Linux?

I was thinking of getting a certification, maybe red hat? or LPI.

What are your suggestions for this?
