Question about Duel Boot on an Imac

Hi everyone. I'm one that people that go back and forth with various OS's and always come back to Linux.

Alas, by the time I get back to it, I've forgotten most of what I learned that last time.

So, I've got a 27 inch Imac that's about 6 years old. Works great.

I would like to know if you think I can do a dual boot linux / Mac on this?

I've done the Windows and Linux on a PC multiple times but I've never tried it on my mac.

My system info is as follows in case that might help.

Model Name: iMac

Model Identifier: iMac10,1

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor Speed: 3.06 GHz

Number of Processors: 1

Total Number of Cores: 2

Boot ROM Version: IM101.00CC.B00

Serial Number (system): QP0242G35PE

Hardware UUID: 1BEA4CA7-4C01-5E90-A245-F67BE7224D5D
