Can anyone recommend an offline image converter for Windows?
If you're looking for an offline image converter for Windows, I'd recommend using a desktop application instead of an online service, especially if you're working with a large number of files or sensitive images.
I recently needed to convert images in bulk without uploading anything to the cloud, and PCDOTS Image Converter worked well for my requirements. It supports batch conversion between multiple image formats, so I could convert an entire folder in one go while keeping the original image quality. Since everything is processed locally, it was also a better option for privacy.

Yes, I’d recommend an offline image converter for Windows if the goal is to convert images without uploading them to an online service. I’d mainly look for support for common formats and batch conversion.
I came across Softaken Image Converter as one option for converting my JPG to PNG without compromising the image quality. You can convert any image format into the format that you need because it supports formats such as JPG, PNG, BMP, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, ICO and WebP. The tool can also process multiple images together, which saves time when there are many files.
The basic workflow is simple:
- Add individual images or a folder.
- Select the required output format.
- Preview the images before conversion.
- Choose the output location.
- Start the conversion.
Offline benefit: The images stay on your Windows system instead of being uploaded to an online service.
For me, the main benefit of an offline converter is keeping the images on the Windows system instead of uploading them to an online service.
