Printer Disconnects Randomly After System Update

Hi all
I am using a Ubuntu 22.04 LTS desktop machine and my Brother MFC-L2707DW printer connected via USB started to give me issues recently.
This printer has been functioning normally for a few months. After applying the latest system updates, the printer has begun disconnecting at random times. There are instances when it manages to print a few pages without any problem, but in other cases, the USB connection gets lost and the printing order is aborted.
Here's what I have done so far:
Downloaded and reinstalled the official Brother Linux drivers from: https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadtop.aspx?c=us_ot&lang=en&prod=mfcl2707dw_us
Removed and reinstalled the printer completely.
Downloaded the driver package from: https://printerdrivers.com/brother-mfc-l2707dw-driver/
Switched to different USB ports.
Changed the USB cable.
Restarted the CUPS service.

The printer is initially recognized, but after a while the connection seems to be lost. My guess is this could be due to USB power saving features, changes in the kernel, or a recent update.
System info:
Distro: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Kernel: 6.x series
Connection: USB
Printer: Brother MFC-L2707DW

Has anyone else encountered USB printer disconnect issues post kernel or system update? What logs, kernel parameters, or manual troubleshooting procedures should I look at?
Best Regards
