Can damaged Outlook PST files be converted into another format safely?

Damaged PST files need careful handling because normal export methods may fail or skip mailbox items. In such cases, a converter with scan-based PST reading can help parse mailbox data more reliably. Softaken PST Mailbox Converter includes Deep Scan and Recovery Mode for recovery-focused parsing of damaged PST mailbox structures. It is not a password-bypass or guaranteed repair tool, but it can help process partially damaged PST files more effectively than basic manual methods. The software supports exporting PST data into multiple formats including MBOX, EML, EMLX, MSG, PDF, HTML, MHTML, VCF, CSV, TGZ, NSF, and IMAP-supported options. It also provides a preview before export, which helps check recoverable emails, contacts, folders, and other mailbox items before saving them. The demo version can export 25 items for testing.
