What steps should I follow to convert PST to EML?

To convert PST to EML, you can either use a manual method or a dedicated tool, depending on how much data you need to handle.
In Microsoft Outlook, open your PST file and drag the emails you want into a folder on your desktop. Outlook will automatically save those messages in EML format. This method is simple and works well for a small number of emails.
However, from experience, the manual process becomes slow and difficult when dealing with large PST files or multiple folders.
For bulk conversion, the BLR PST Converter Tool provides a much smoother process. You add the PST file, choose EML as the output format, and start the conversion. The tool helps preserve attachments, formatting, metadata, and folder structure during export.
Also, using a reliable PST file converter makes handling large mailbox data easier and reduces the risk of missing emails.
So, manual methods are fine for small tasks, while professional tools are better for fast and accurate bulk PST to EML conversion.

To convert PST to EML, first make sure the PST file is healthy and accessible. Outlook does not provide a direct option to export complete PST folders into EML format, so using a dedicated PST to EML conversion tool is the easier method. (My personal recommendation is the Softaken PST to EML Converter because it is trustworthy and accurate.)
Open the software on a Windows system, add the Outlook PST file, and let it scan the mailbox data. After that, preview folders such as Inbox, Sent, Drafts, and other email folders. Select the required emails or folders, choose a local destination path, and start the conversion process.
This method helps export PST emails to EML format with attachments, formatting, email headers, To, CC, BCC, and other properties preserved. The converted EML files can be accessed in supported email clients like Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, and other EML-based platforms.
