What is PST repair and why is it needed?

PST repair is the process of fixing a corrupted or damaged Outlook PST (Personal Storage Table) file so that emails, contacts, attachments, and other mailbox data can be accessed again. PST files can become corrupted due to issues like sudden system shutdowns, oversized files, malware attacks, or improper closing of Outlook.
PST repair is needed because once a PST file is corrupted, you may experience problems such as missing emails, error messages, or Outlook failing to open. Repairing the PST file helps restore access to your data and ensures smooth functioning of Outlook.
From my experience, manual methods like the Inbox Repair Tool (ScanPST) can handle minor corruption, but they are not effective for severe damage. That’s why using a professional PST repair tool like BLR Tools is a better choice, as it provides accurate recovery and ensures no data loss during the repair process.
