...Instruction that caused the interrupt? or got interrupted?

On the CSR section of the course.....
"mepc (Machine Exception Program Counter): Stores the program counter value of the instruction that caused an exception or interrupt in machine mode. It determines where the program should resume execution after handling the exception."

Not always instructions cause interrupt right? I think "the instruction that got interrupted" would be more correct to use.
