CKS Exam – Copy/Paste UI Issue During the Exam & Waiting for LF Update

Please LF team and everyone,

I would like to share a technical issue I faced during my CKS exam and kindly ask for guidance.

I took the Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) exam on December 15 at 9:00 PM (Asia/Bangkok) via PSI. During the exam, the copy and paste function in the question panel stopped working, including the “click to copy” option. However, I was still able to copy text from the Kubernetes documentation, which indicates that the clipboard itself was functioning normally.

This issue did not occur in the first 4 questions the click-to-copy feature worked correctly at the beginning. After completing those 4 questions, with approximately 85 minutes remaining, the issue started and prevented me from continuing the exam fairly.

During the exam, I contacted PSI Technical Support. They confirmed the issue and advised me that it was acceptable to exit the PSI secure browser and escalate the problem to the Linux Foundation.

I have raised support tickets for this issue (PSI Ticket: POA-40165, Linux Foundation Ticket: TCCS-160779). At the moment, I have not yet received an update, so I wanted to reach out to the community.

Has anyone experienced a similar copy/paste UI issue during the CKS exam? How long did it usually take for the Linux Foundation to respond, and was a retake or attempt reset provided?

Thank you very much for your time and support.

    Hi @zawyeaung

We apologize for the issues encountered during the exam and the inconvenience they have caused. Response from the Linux Foundation Customer Support team may take up to several business days, but rest assured that once your ticket is assigned, they will assist you in rescheduling your exam.

  • Hi Fcioanca, thank you very much for your response and reassurance.

I truly appreciate the support from the Linux Foundation community. I would like to share some constructive feedback and suggestions from my recent exam experience, with the aim of helping maintain a stable and fair exam environment in close coordination with the PSI team.

During the exam, a PSI click-to-copy UI issue significantly affected my performance and disrupted my planned timeline. In a time-sensitive exam like CKS, such environment issues add considerable pressure and stress for candidates. I believe it is critical to ensure a stable exam UI and to provide faster and more effective resolution when technical issues occur.

I would kindly suggest stronger tracking of UI-related issues with PSI, clearer and quicker escalation procedures during live exams, and more proactive support. In my case, when I first reported the issue to the exam proctor, the response was delayed (around one minute), and escalation to PSI support took additional time. Unfortunately, PSI support could only create a ticket and ask me to escalate the issue to the exam sponsor, which was very difficult to manage while actively sitting the exam.

Additionally, while I have received the automated ticket acknowledgment, I have not yet received any further update from the Linux Foundation support team even after 20 hours, which adds uncertainty and increases stress. I respectfully ask for faster and more effective communication and resolution in such situations.

I highly value Linux Foundation certifications. I have already purchased multiple exams and plan to continue investing in certifications and training for myself and my teams in the coming years. I hope this feedback helps improve the overall candidate experience.

Thank you again for your understanding and support. I look forward to a reasonable and timely resolution.

I had same issue in one from two attempts for CKA and CKS Exams. From my experience, I can suggest to not waste time on support during Exam. Once it took 40 minutes and for dummy discussions. And did not solve issue. You have better chances with writing everything by hand.

To be optimistic, it occurred 'only' in 50% of mine attempts.
