Newbie in Linux :)

Hi guys,

I’m quite new to Linux, but I'm really excited to learn more about technology. I’m not very technical — I’m more of an artist. I’ve worked as a VFX artist for many years, and I’ve never been great at solving technical problems. In the studios where I worked, there was always an IT person to help me out. But in the past few years, I’ve been working remotely with my own workstation, so I had to start learning more about the technical side.

In studios, I always had a Linux workstation, but at home, I ran into compatibility issues, which is why I ended up using Windows. But as everyone knows, Windows is getting worse and worse, so now I really want to switch to Linux.

As a beginner, it’s hard. Most of you already know so much and talk using a lot of technical terms; for me, it sometimes feels like rocket science. I hope that in this course I can find the basics I need, and connect with people who can help me learn more.
