Introducing myself

Hello, folks.
My name is Luiz Cláudio Vieira, I'm a 63Y.O. native Brazilian.

I've been introduced to computers in 1979 with ForTran when starting Electrical Engineering course. Since then I found and studied Z80 hardware architecture + Assembly Language, BASIC, Pascal, C, C++, HTML, and most recently Python - currently running advanced Python - and starting with R, amongst others. As it happened to many people - I.T. professionals included - in the 80's, I started using MS D.O.S. then flipped to MS Windows versions. And it's been about 14 years since I definitely migrated to exclusively using Linux Distros, being MS windows versions a need-to-know-only base. I also acted as a university teacher in many fields, since basic math to A.I. Theory, for about 30 years. Although I'm already 63 Y.O. and about to retire (next year), I never stopped studying, learning, teaching - and I surely do not intend to. Having concluded a DevOps course recently and currently attending DevSecOps classes, by doing that @ 63 makes me feel alive! (Mr. Alzheimer, please knock at the neighbor's door...) I'll do my best following classes, sharing knowledge an participating with the best I can. Cheers!

  • This post truly moved me. I only wish there were a way to amplify it beyond this platform. Too many people in their 40s feel they’re “too old” to learn anything new; yet here you are at 63, embracing learning and thriving. You’re proof that growth has no age limit. Thank you for inspiring so many of us.
