someone is able to help me with the error below when I try to open the putty using the external ip provided by course/training guide
the external Ip 35.188.66.208 does not connect properly using the username student and the error is → No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey)
I was trying to open it with vm instance over ubuntu 20. tls version via https://console.cloud.google.com/

Hi @dobarbos,
For this course, following the demo video guides, the learner is responsible for the provisioning of the necessary virtual machines. Two popular cloud providers are recommended, but others can be used as well. Local hypervisors can also be used to provision the virtual machines needed to support the hands-on lab exercises. Once the VMs are provisioned you can either use their public IP addresses (cloud) or local private IP addresses (local hypervisor) to SSH into with putty or other clients. Alternatively, you can SSH into cloud VMs directly from cloud consoles, or start local VMs from the hypervisor management console.
The authentication key creation process is also demonstrated in the videos, together with populating the key onto the target VM. Keep in mind that cloud services can also create authentication keys on your behalf, simplifying the login process. For local VMs you may skip the key creation process if desired, a simply login via the user ID and password authentication mechanism.
I would also recommend using Ubuntu 24.04 LTS as per the latest release of the lab guide.
Regards,
