Yes. Have you considered running a virtual machine? I assume you are running Windows. Windows 10? Windows 11? Do you have Windows 11 Pro or Enterprise? If so, you could run Window's Hyper-V virtual machine hypervisor. If you don't have one of these versions of Windows 11, you might be able to use VMware's Workstation Player (free for personal use) or Oracle Virtual Box (open-source software). Virtual machines do require certain hardware support from your CPU, so if your machine is old or very inexpensive, you might not have the hardware support you need. I strongly encourage you to use your favorite search engine to look for "how to" articles online. There are lots of them! A virtual machine allows you to run a full Linux distribution under Windows. If your system does not support running a virtual machine, you can also look into cloud computing at Amazon (AWS) or Google (GCE). Both have "free tier" type cloud machines that you access over the network. If you have some older working hardware that you don't need to run Windows, you can also consider installing Linux directly on that hardware, over-writing the old contents of your disk, but this should only be done if you no longer need the information on that older system.

You brought up WSL, which is not too bad for a lot of this course. It doesn't give you the Graphical User Interface (GUI) that the early part of this course explains, but you can execute a lot of the commands found later in the course.

I hope this helps and good luck with your journey with Linux. Your journey may start today, but it will never end because there are always new things to learn.
