Same terrible experience with my CKS exames today (retake) and 2 days ago (1st-take). Both times the brower got frozen several times, I barely had one hour to work on the exam. I had CKA and CKAD exams a few months ago, both of them ran smoothly without any issue.

I've also encountered serious problems on PSI browser during my CKS exam. I had CKA exam a few months ago and I did not see any real issue. Today I was not able to use copy & paste, scrolling browser and even typing on terminal was cumbersome. What changed, I don't understand. For anyone maybe it will be useful, I am sharing my environment:

up to 100 Mbps download & 20 Mbps upload VDSL Internet speed. Connected via WiFi.

I performed download & upload speed tests from where I sit for the exam and I see approx. 90 Mbps download & 18 Mbps consistently. Therefore that should not be problem.

I was using MacBook Air M2 with 16 GB with Mac OS 15.3.2

and PSI Secure Browser version says v5.0.0 PSI.

LF Guys, can you please provide a solution because it really impedes the experience and motivation. I am most likely failed today (todays' very very sluggish environment definitely contributed), and I will very likely use my 2nd attempt within A week. If there is a problem with Mac OS, I will use some Linux/Ubuntu machine ? or downgrade Mac OS from 15.x.x. to 14.x.x ?

I faced the same problem today while taking my CKAD exam. A popup window appearing during the exam displaying that lost web camera connectivity and subsequently psi browser crash afterwards. I tried 3 times going through the tedious procedure of scanning my room, desk, ears, phone, hand wrists but while doing that and getting into the exam I realized that the timer would count on. Finally I got instructed be the online proctor instructor to call global support that I did while the exam time was running. It was impossible to take exams under these circumstances. After 8 hours I have not yet got any reply back if I could retake the exam and what could be the possible issue. While doing tests before the exam I didn't face any issue and I am pretty sure I did not have any network issues by checking my router logs. By they way I have a fiber optic connection 500Mbit/s.

To say the truth now I am more worried about the PSI buggy app and not the real exam content.

@agahemre posted on 30 March that he had problems with PSI browser during his CKS exam and had CKA exam a few months ago and did not see any real issue. I have the same experience. I took CKA exam on 17 Feb 2025 and had no issues at all (ok, it wasn't superfast but it was working without crashing or reconnecting. On 29 March 2025 I took CKS and it kept reconnecting and eventually crashed. Laptop and internet connection were the same both times. Now, I managed to find the executable that I downloaded on 17 Feb. Bingo! Different version. on 17 Feb I was using Version 4.0.0 and on 29 Mar Verion 5.0.0.

btw, are all of us who experienced these issues using Windows?

  • I had similar terrible experience on April 2nd, 2025. Could not type or move cursor in vi editor or even scroll down the browser. If I type or scroll, it would come back and show after 30 seconds with multiple letters or too many scrolls. Really frustrating experience.
Did not have such issues with Pearson Vue in past, but PSI browser gave me a frustrating experience.
I opened up a ticket with support - hoping to get a retake but the idea that same issue will reoccur demotivates me even further.

Likewise. LF need to work on getting this PSI slowness, lag and crash resolved at earliest
Had my CKA exam today 6th Apr 2024.
Pathetically slow. Keyboard inserts were lagging and as a result wasted lot of time correcting commands, yaml files and so on.
Remote desktop crashed and disconnected in between once as well. Document loading, scrolling and search was taking ages.
So stressful and can't even finish the exam when I could have easily solved the questions. It's painful to go experience such things when one invest time and money for certification only to get blocked by such technical issues.
Have already raised a ticket immediately after the exam. Waiting for it's outcome

I too faced the same problem, session got uprubtly closed , when reconnect, check goes in queue and it took more than 25 mins to resume, but the exam timer was not paused. I lost 25 mins time there.
In addition copy scroll were slower, RDP also slow in switching from browser to terminals.

I didn't not expect these many issues is the psi RDP. Registered case in portal

I've got even worse problem, my purchase disappeared from trainingportal.linuxfoundation.org. It is only visible on openprofile.dev but everything redirects to trainingportal.linuxfoundation.org which is just absurd. How come someone pays huge money and yet poof, it disappears and you can't even schedule an exam

Took my Retake today April 10th 2025, same thing as OP. At first the browser, was disconnecting but at least it wasn't crashing, until it did. The browser froze twice, must have lost about 30 mins or so. Grading is in progress and a Ticket is Open. Definitely not the most pleasant experience, considering the first time went fairly well.

  • I had the same issue when I tried to take the CKA exam yesterday.
During the exam, I also got disconnected 4-5 times and it took about 50-60 minutes total time.
This issue is still not resolved.

Same here..I had CKAD exam last night. It was ugly and frustrating experience. The PSI browser had latency and disconnected couple of times. I only was able to finish half of the questions. I had CKA exam on December 24 and it was smooth.

I had planned to become a Kubestronaut before the end of the year, and I began that journey today with the CKA exam. However, after my experience with the PSI browser, I’m seriously reconsidering whether it’s worth investing my time. The platform was extremely sluggish and kept reloading at frequent intervals, which made the entire experience frustrating.

I had a terrible experience writing the CKAD exam today, Could not type or move cursor in vi editor or even scroll down the browser. If I type or scroll, it would come back and show after 30 seconds with multiple letters or too many scrolls. Really frustrating experience.I couldn't attend all the questions I think i might not clear. At the beginning it took 45 min to get started as the terminal was hungin validation stage and I got some help this my ticket number - Ticket Number: 4909835 and after 45 min i was able to start my test I was well prepared but this is was so frustrating it took 10 mins to edit files in vi mode and save it extremely slow and rollback command didn't work. This is not fare your testing with a crappy env I spent 300$$ ++ hours of studying and spent money of udemy courses in expectation of clearing this. I am extremely disappointed please refund the money or please give me a another retake. This is unfair!
