Linux Mint Problem installing Veracrypt GUI

I was wondering if anyone had this experience and might help. I am having trouble installing veracrypt (would prefer GUI) on Mint. I am getting an error that something is missing but no guidance on how to fix it. Also, I had a conflict with uninstalling Veracrypt-console, which did not work. When I ask it to uninstall, the little timer wheel keeps going around and around and not finishing. I left it overnight and it was still churning away. Maybe these are related? Thank you very much in advance for any guidance you can offer me.
