Getting started.

Hello i wanted to start helpthe kernel development since i made my own few drivers i wanted to help the community. But i am struggling with getting started and find some easy tasks. So i looked at the todos in the drivers in the repo:
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/staging.git

But my problem is most of the todos have been resolved. To my question why are the todos not removed and whats a good way to start.
