how do I extend a volume group

I added to /dev/sda so it is 200gb but the vg00 still isn't extended
I tried :
vgextend vg00
vgextend vg00 /dev/sda3

[root@ohmsrv01d serveradmin]# lsblk

├─vg00-tmp 253:5 0 2G 0 lvm /tmp
└─vg00-home 253:6 0 5G 0 lvm /home

vg00 1 7 0 wz--n- 36.00g 4.00m

how do I add all that extra gb to vg00
