etcd VIRT Usage: 10G?

Probably easy question, but I couldn't find an answer for this anywhere. I have been working through the labs in unit 4, and top shows 10 Gigs and change for Etcd's VIRT usage. Even deleting all the workloads (like the hog and stress exercises) keeps it at 10 and change. Should Etcd's virtual memory usage be that high without any applications running?

That VIRT value seems about right.
