Lab 15.1 - Question on the lab output
Hello,
I am using k8s 1.27 and followed the instruction for installing my node, however I don't have the same output as in the lab when running the command below ( I should have a bootstrap-token if I follow the lab)
harimino@cp-node:~$ kubectl -n kube-system get secrets
No resources found in kube-system namespace.
What is the reason for this ?
Second question what is the difference between REDACTED and the ouput below
apiVersion: v1
clusters:
- cluster:
** certificate-authority-data: DATA+OMITTED**
server: https://k8scp:6443
name: kubernetes

Hi @harimino,
In latest releases, Kubernetes no longer creates token secrets automatically. It becomes the user's responsibility to create the tokens and their secrets as desired.
You can read more on the topic at
https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/configuration/secret/#bootstrap-token-secrets
https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/configuration/secret/#service-account-token-secrets
"REDACTED" used to be displayed in an inconsistent manner in the previous Kubernetes version, and it was now fixed with "DATA+OMITTED".
