Hi,

Today we were presented with an interesting scenario where a CSI volume driver was used for the provisioning of a PersistentVolume. However, after a cluster upgrade and eventually a CSI driver upgrade (for compatibility reasons) the testing Pod was no longer mounting the PV through its respective PVC, and no data could be recovered.

After careful inspection of driver logs, we concluded that additional research was required to fully understand the intended use of the CSI driver with the supported volumeModes and whether there were additional factors that may have impacted the binding between the PV and PVC.

Regards,
-Chris
