LFCS -- "Implement reverse proxies and load balancers"

As per the latest topics I was able to find (https://training.linuxfoundation.org/lfcs2022changes/) we need to know how to "implement reverse proxies and load balancers". Which service you'd suggest I learn and master to accomplish this. After some research I found nginx, but not sure whether this would be considered the best option.

  • Hi @ksalgadoc,

If we talk about how to implement a reverse proxy -leaving aside the exam part- I think the easiest and faster way is using Nginx. But you also can do it with Apache, Squid and others. It's up to you the choice.

In the real life you should compare the ability to scale, among other important things. In the case you mention, Nginx will do an excellent job.

    Many regards,
    Luis.
