Linux is Great for specifics but not for general public use .. ...!

Good evening ..thank you for allowing me onto your platform. Just to say.. I have been using linux since Windows 98 was the main os. on pc s at the time . Linux is great when used for internet servers and mobile cell phones but it falls short when used on the desktop as a alternative to IOS and Microsoft Windows . Faced with multiple distros to navigate for installation and unfamiliar sounding apps together with multiple levels and designs of GUI s linux will never be able to achieve market share with Windows and IOS .Just an observation from a long term linux user ....
