Formatting error in "Git Post-Commit Hooks"

The page says

Then, edit the .git/hooks/post-commit file to contain only the following two lines:

and goes off to mention 4 lines. IMHO, #!bash redundant shebang should be removed
and

Make sure the file is executable

should have a different formatting than the above two lines.
I guess #!bash wasn't meant to be a shebang but some sort of formatting instruction that should have ended after two lines.
