I've managed to carry out most of the Labs using Google Cloud and as part of this chapter I was curious how to access the bootloader in a cloud vm environment.

Fortunately the docs for Google Cloud are good so I thought that they're worth sharing.

cool. We don't get into this kind of stuff because it can be different on every cloud platform and if were to get into it we would probably be encouraging people to do this, which is not the main avenue for the course, and it would force us to keep on our toes to keep things up to date. Likewise we don't really explain how to do any hypervisor (vmware, virtual box, azure, etc) as you get into other kinds of questions about host platform and OS etc.
