man pages for signals

Why does man 15 kill and man 20 kill show the same man page?

Is there a better way to get information on the signal number other than man # kill?

the number is the chapter of the manual (which is what man stands for) and since there is no 15 or 20 chapter you just get the default. I believe the chapter numbers are discussed in the text. Try "man 1p kill" vs "man 2 kill" and you will see different chapters. "man -f kill" will list the chapters.

    "man -f kill"

I never thought to man the man. The chapter number makes sense now.

    Hi @bfmcneill ,

You can do "man 7 signal" to get a bit more information.

    Regards,
    Luis.
