My name is David Driver and I am just starting LFS201 and exploring this site, while completing the free Linux Introduction on edX. I have been, primarily, a mainframe (COBOL/CICS) programmer/consultant for almost 40 years and also have some experience in Unix, developing Windows 3.11 (WFW) applications in C. Last year, when I realized "Linux is the future of computing", I dumped Windows for Linux and have no plan or desire to go back. After 13 years at Princess Cruises (supporting XML/API for travel agencies), I was recently laid-off and need to re-invent myself and update my skills. I'm looking forward to obtaining both the LFCS and LFCE. And I'm VERY HAPPY to have this class provided precisely at the time when the LF discounts became active!
