Netplan in Ubuntu 18.04

I plan to take my exam sometime around October or November 2019. Today I've just stumbled across netplan in my VM and see that the self-paced course material doesn't have any exercises involving it.

When would it likely be something which I would need to be knowledgeable of as it would appear on the exam?

We do not know what is on the exam. Netplan is rather new and no other distribution is using it and it does not do anything that cannot be done in another (older) way. But as I say, the training and certification staffs are different and there is a firewall between. I do know that the next release of LFS211 will almost definitely have a discussion of netplan, but it is not there now.
