Use of "dmstats" command in linux and its performance metrics to check the IO stats

Hi,

I'm looking for more detailed information regarding "dmstats" command in Linux.

Would you help me understand the usage of "dmstats" command? What does it actually provide as an output? I can see several command options such as create, delete, clear, list, print, report etc in the man help page, but didn't understand what is it that create command creates and how/what does report option gives IO stats? What does it actually monitor?

Please let me know how it is actually being used in storage environments.
