Lab 3.2 Network Node\Port ?

Trying to execute this command Step two in this section
student@lfs458-node-1a0a:~$ ip addr show ens4 | grep inet
inet 10.128.0.3/32 brd 10.128.0.3 scope global ens4
inet6 fe80::4001:aff:fe8e:2/64 scope link

The text above states:
Find the IP address of your master server. The interface name will be different depending on where the node is running.
Currently inside of GCE the primary interface for this node type is ens4. Your interfaces names may be different. From
the output we know our master node IP is 10.128.0.3

So I figured out my IP:
student@ubuntu:~$ kubectl describe service
Name: kubernetes
Namespace: default
Labels: component=apiserver
provider=kubernetes
Annotations:
Selector:
Type: ClusterIP
IP: 10.96.0.1
Port: https 443/TCP
TargetPort: 6443/TCP
Endpoints: 192.168.44.131:6443
Session Affinity: None
Events:

SO what\where\how do I get the section that is highlights? What is the node type. This is not in the Google cloud so I can not assume the same default. This is running on the VMWare instance local. Doing a google search is not helpful on this topic at all.

For me to do these lines outside of the IP address I am not sure what is based off my machine and what is the actual command.
inet 10.128.0.3/32 brd 10.128.0.3 scope global ens4
inet6 fe80::4001:aff:fe8e:2/64 scope link

Sorry I am completely lost on this one.

Thank you.

    I found this:

    student@ubuntu:~$ ip addr show
    1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN group default qlen 1
    link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
    inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo
    valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
    inet6 ::1/128 scope host
    valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
    2: ens33: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP group default qlen 1000
    link/ether 00:0c:29:f3:36:9a brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
    inet 192.168.44.131/24 brd 192.168.44.255 scope global dynamic ens33
    valid_lft 1446sec preferred_lft 1446sec
    inet 192.168.44.131/24 brd 192.168.44.255 scope global dynamic ens33
    valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever

    Given the name close ens33. I assume that is the node i am looking to connect to. OH!! So this part is what I need to put in the worker config:
    inet 192.168.44.131/24 brd 192.168.44.255 scope global dynamic ens33
    inet 192.168.44.131/24 brd 192.168.44.255 scope global dynamic ens33

    Hello,

    It will be difficult without some knowledge of how to view the network in Linux. You are trying to find your network interface in this step.

    Please run ip addr show. You will probably find that the second interface listed is your primary interface. The lo interface is loopback - how the system talks to itself. Often the next listed interface is the primary interface. It probably has the same IP address you found the API server listening to.

    You may want to review some of the free courses The Linux Foundation offers, to learn more about networking and Linux: https://edx.org/course?search_query=Linux+Foundation

    From your output the interface would be ens33. You will use the 192.168.44.131 IP, found in your output, when you generate the new join command.

    Hi, the course starting tomorrow does not cover any Linux or Networking basics. However, The Linux Foundation does offer a more suitable course which targets the basics - https://www.edx.org/course/introduction-to-linux. Hope you find it helpful.
