I agree, the display itself is not a Linux problem at all. In some cases the driver for the video card could be one. But I think this is becoming less of an issue since then it used to be.

I read http://hp.manymanuals.com/monitors/2010 HP 2010 MANUALS and realized that this is the ideal option for me. I have not regretted my purchase. maybe the manuals will help you too
