PS1 controller working partially

Hi everyone! I have a little problem. I'm trying to connect a Playstation 1 controller to my computer and I managed to do so by using an USB adapter (from PS1/Ps2 to usb) and the jstest-gtk application. The problem is that it recognizes all buttons (also analog sticks) excepted the "Cross", "Square" and "Circle" button (the most used :( ) In fact it lists only 13 buttons, but they sould be 16. Does anyone know how can I try to solve this problem? I have Linux Mint 19.1 MATE.
I found this: https://marc.info/?t=154750962200001 Do you know how many time will it take to be fixed? Is there a workaround?
